Orientation
This week has been one of the most happening weeks so far as everyday i get the chance to be involve in different events that are all linked together for one purpose, the freshman's orientation week program!
From the intense preparation of mass call since last week, till the end of mass call on Monday, to the emceeing on Tuesday, to the booth designing and singing on stage on Wednesday, to the preparing food for all course reps on Thursday, and the photographer job on Friday, and lastly a helper and "official photo person" for the KL tour around KL on Saturday. Well regardless or not it sounds interesting i'll still blog bout it once the photos are ready :)
First up, Mass Call, which is the official event organized by SBS SWC (Student Welfare Committee of School of Business Studies).
The day started at 6 and every helper and committee involved woke up extremely early to gather at college. For a person that finds waking up at 8 for lecture a fascinating thing, this sort of commitment is definitely worth praising XD
All in all, things were exceptionally smooth. Human traffic can be very very scary if it gets out of hand but thankfully, the whole 3 sessions went very well despite a slight delay here and there.
The best part (for me :p ) was that i get to talk to 6000 students out of 3 batch of sessions although its just that couple of minutes. Well those few minutes definitely lay down an extra topic for me to talk about when meeting any freshy. "Um that day did u see me on stage a?" XD
I remember last year's mass call was really giving a hard time to everyone in the hall. The crowd was dead, the emcee's are tired and boring. I was that affected that i actually promised to get better emcee's for the following year's mass call when i was introducing myself during course representative election (which i didn't get elected :p but i got to realise the promise anyway! )
Although Amanda was still the emcee (and i do truly respect her :p), the new guy Ian brought a whole new style and chemistry towards mass call emceeing and i bet all the students were comfortable with his casual and spontaneous flow of speech. Although he crack a few "yellowish" joke which the school official highly dislike, i thought it was just fine, after all most of the audience don't get it XD
Amanda too looked very impressive through out all the 3 sessions working with the crowd yet being very professional :) See how natural the smile she's wearing. haha (just in case you're reading this amanda XD)
The dress code for the day was full formal black so everyone was seriously serious looking. (That make sense doesn't it?) Lucky enough we got a taste of first-hand tux which was freshly bought a few days before mass call. Yeng ler?
A "special guest" arrived for the last 2 sessions which is non-other than TARC's chairperson Dato Seri Ong Ka Ting. Well i guess his presence led to the same impression as he always did. Thank you Dati Seri Ong for the "inspiring, long, encouraging, looonggg" speech :) truly amazing :D
As a conclusion, I really felt glad that SBS is taking Mass Call this year instead of all the beauty and talent competition. And yes if i were to given another chance, i would love to do Mass Call again, a complicated yet simple, significant yet procedural, formal yet exciting event which embarks the beginning of all TAR college freshmen :)
Great appreciation to everyone involved no matter whether you're in this colorful photo or not. Thank you for the patience and commitment, and i'm looking forward to our next get-together-event, whichever it may be :)

Wishes
Although a mesmerizing night sky is best accompanied with meteors,
But if you don't have the patience for looking up,
the best of stars above will not be realized.
A great essay with extravagant vocabs and fluency of ideas may be captivating,
But without the passion and love for writing,
paragraphs remain as paragraphs.
Although birthdays are naturally linked with parties and present,
but even without them,
i believe it remains a significant day with wishes of the most sincere.
Mum, i don't know what to give nor how to celebrate you're retiring birthday, i feel bad myself but luckily you're flying back today so you won't exactly spend the day alone. But all in all, i really wanna wish you with all my heart,

MASS CALL
Although i don't deserve to have free time to blog about this when there are a lot more things to do, but being a person that has retarted obedience skills and mood-swing-time-concept, i choose to flow selfishly with what i feel like doing than what i should XD
Being bad in self organizing has always been a "characteristic" of me when the word "problem" seem to fit the situation better. Constantly i would use artistic as the reasoning for being unorganized. Well, it does make sense doesn't it? :p
The first impression that strike my mind when i was told the student body of my school this year is not getting "nights" but is entrusted with the rule-bound formal procedural MASS CALL, was disappointment and disappointment and more disappointment. For the whole year i was brainstorming the ideas for an event which leaves all creative work to the students. But instead, we got Mass Call, where innovation is not exactly encourage and when all fresh suggestions are "wombed" (why do i have to use this word =.=), it all gets turn down.
And when i was made Programme Coordinator, it makes things worst. At one point i actually thought of seeing how unsystematic i can get till the whole mass call get screwed up. Asking a guy that thinks messy is nice, to take care of thousands of student? Plain nuts.
But when things went on, actually, it wasn't really that bad. In fact, i really thought it was a great divine arrangement to help me boost up that lil "character" or "problem" i have. To think of it, what are the odds that you get to have such an event to help you improve what you're least good in?
Really, i just wanna thank God, not upon courtesy, but sincerely for His precise and understanding arrangement, to let me be at the right place at the right time to do what He wants me to do, and when you're doing something He wants you to do, you can be assured that it would be a wonderful miraculous journey of experience =)

In less than 24 hours
I've been staying and lazing around the comforts of familiarities, with no pressure and expectations to fulfilled while utilizing my endless minutes with unproductive things like, restaurant city or word challenge on facebook. Besides so, almost every hour is scheduled on something foreseen or otherwise. In other words, life's good here. No pressure and expectations to fulfilled, you know how soothing that sounds?
In a bit less than 24 hours, i'll have to shed off this layer of caterpillar skin, and jump back to the routine of breathless schedules. To see it from a bird eye's view, it sounds crazy to have to adapt to 2 extreme situations in less than 24 hours! In less than 24 hours, i'll have to pick up the responsibility (not that i'm not picking it up now) of Mass Call & TT night while seemingly slot in church camp in between.
Do you know the meaning of mass?? It means massiveness! There will be a whole week of packing of 6300 orientation kits, getting to know helpers and working together, rehearsals and rehearsals, and the expectation of a smooth and undestructive flow of massive students on the day itself.
While the preparation is going on, i'll need to rush out a 4 blackboard size banner for TT audition. Well TT means T.T= cry. Haha jk, = Talentime. A series of activities for freshmen to join andwaste their time show their talents =) The sick part is, the audition starts on the day of mass call which means i'll have to rush on mass call while trying to figure a way to finish the banner! gosh im so happy =.=
At the same time, church camp is on, which clashes with the preparation of mass call
Well the table does make things look more simple, its not that congested is it?
nooooo, tables are illusions, every activity has its tiny tiny sub's so i gotta pray!

Kuching
which i found through google.
Am currently in the City of Cats and will be staying till the 12th of May. Not having much plans yet beside going around searching for nostalgic food, karaoke, drive as much as possible and going to random beaches and hills with dad. Just read through a tourist's blog post over his visit to Kuching and i realize, there's actually a lot to do around here, there's national parks everywhere!
I found out that, coming to Kuching as a tourist gives a whole new perception towards this familiar city of mine. Starting from reaching the airport, grabbing the lowest taxi rate, living in the hotels that are located along the river as above, and getting to the beaches or national parks by van or speed boats and stuff. Besides, walking along the riverbank/waterfront (which Kuching residents has taken for granted) and watching the fountain show (which i took for granted) and stuff like that is actually quite exotic.Gosh i envy you guys who do not have houses around here. HAHA!

Cuti-cuti Malaysia, forget about Redang and Perhentian, forget bout Penang and Langkawi, Kuching is the newest place to be, so do come visit!
as a tourist haaaa XD
