Life Thus Far

Abram was facing a critical situation. His land was having a severe famine that probably would cost him and his people their lives. Out of desperation, he ran away from famine to Egypt along with his wife Sarai traveling through the harsh roads to a greener land. Logically, the migration would have been right.

Before reaching Egypt, Abram started to worry about Sarai, as she was beautiful and attractive. He knew her looks would captivate the eyes of the men in that foreign land and he might be killed in order for them to get his wife. Being tormented between losing his life and letting his true love being taken away by evil man, he drowned in his thoughts thinking of a way to curb this situation.

"Aha!" Abram after juicing out all that his brains can think of, he came out with the idea of pretending to be Sarai's brother. That way he won't be threaten but would be treated well because her "sister" has a Meagan Fox body with tight Egypt World Cup Jersey and Angelina Jolie's lips.

On the fact that guys would treat the hottest girl's brother well to get to her might have been a historical pratice, the Pharoah of Egypt really got his eyes on Sarai and brought her into hispalace.(details thereafter are censored by the bible) Abram on the other hand, was treated well with lottery winning numbers, play station 3, five star hotel buffet, free MAS tickets to South Africa and servants that all looked like Jessica Alba. Sadly, only if he really was Sarai's brother that all those would make any sense to him. He, was truly depressed, feeling as if the world has end seeing his wife brought into the palace with all other details censored!

However, because God had a promise with Abram that whoever curse him shall be curse, the Pharoah was suddenly inflicted with serious disease, (which i do not wish to guess) and he summoned Abram. Abram spend the next few hours being furiously lectured by the Pharoah for telling everyone that Sarai was his sister and therefore taking her was not really a wrong thing.

"Now here is your wife. Take her and go!"

And dear Abram, while leaving this land which he should not have came, looked up to the skies with a guilty yet child-like relieved smile, and thank God for clearing his mess even though he screwed things up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What did Abram went wrong? He was thinking out of a good logical heart to save them from famine when he left the land to Egypt. He was also thinking out of a good heart when the idea of calling Sarai his sister. But things got screwed up. They always do don't they? Getting a low grade even though we spend the whole night before studying our brains off. Your girlfriends leaves you, even though you really knew that you gave all that you had to her. Your parents get disappointed with you, even though you really tried your very best proving things to them. Or you fall into serious depression again out of all the above situation, even though you know God is there, always there waiting to help you.
I am glad thus far, that i have the same God looking after me as Abram thousands of years ago. Even though i did not go to Him straight away when things around me feels like a serious fatigue famine, even if i tried relying on my own mind and coming out with ideas that are preparing me for trouble, even if i screwed up and lose one's that are deared... i know, that my God is so big and strong, and who really loves me, can turn things around and help me out of my situation, without fail!
It is my heart's prayer that you too, would come to know this great God. Because we would always screw things up no matter how hard we try or how much we've given in, we all need this God that loves to saves, loves to help, and loves to LOVE.
May all glory and praise be to Him!
WHAT IS LOVE
Now Hollywood wants to make you think they know what love is. But I'm a tell you what true love is. Love is not what you see in the movies. Its not the ecstasy, its not what you see in that scene, you know what I mean? I'm telling you right now, true love is sacrifice. Love is thinking about others before you think about yourself, love is selfless not selfish. Love is God and God is love. Love is when you lay down your life for another, whether for your brother, your mother, your father or your sister, its even laying down your life for your enemies, that's unthinkable, but think about that. Love is true. Think.
I'll put you in front of me
So everybody can see
My love, this is my love
I know that I'll be alright
As long as you are my guide
My love, this is my love
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, it always perseveres.
Love never fails. Love is everlasting, its eternal, it goes on and on, it goes beyond time, love is the only thing that will last when you die, but ask the question why? Do you have love?
There is no greater love than this than he who lays down his life for his friends. Now are you willing to lay down your life for your friends? You're probably willing to lay down your life for your mother, your father, or your best friends, but are you willing to lay down your life for even those that hate you? I'm going to tell you who did that, the definition of love is Jesus Christ. He is love. The nails in his hands, the thorns in his brow, hanging on a cross for your sin my sins, that is LOVE he died for you and me while we still hated him, that is love. God is true love, and if you don't know this love, now is the time to know, perfect love.
Its an "Auntie" thing
"Ah, why do i feel sorry for them". I was talking to myself in a sardined monorail on the way to Bukit Nanas. The self-conversation was ignited from the sight of a handful of fifteens hugging each other on one of the stations with such intimacy that does not feel like it came out from the right place. I would really be convinced that the guy would be punch so hard if the father of the girl was to witnessed it; but yet again, maybe not, since everyone takes it as a norm these days.
I squeezed out of the sardin train with the imaginary pain thinking what if my daughter were to be touched freely and willingly by some other 15 year old. I would definitely punch the guy hard on the face.
An old lady in her fifties was holding a big yellow map in hand which distracted me from my self-invented pain while i walked down the stairs on the pathway to Dang Wangi Station. (No i did not ask what she thinks about young kids hugging each other) She was puzzled with her surrounding and waved around with her pointing directions while the young lady that was seemingly helping seem as puzzled as well. I "kepo-ly" approach them. The young lady saw me kepo-ing so she excused herself. And so, i was left alone with the auntie that was blabbering in fluent Cantonese, which i never picked up despite TVB dramas being on par with Disney when i was a kid.
"Shera-ton", she read it out loud with the low pitch emphasize on the "ton" that sounded exactly like how Honkies (Hong Kong people) would pronounce English words in soap dramas. Yes, she was from Hong Kong along with her two sisters which wobbled to our side while i researched the scribbled map and the aunties going frantically about how grateful they are :p
Oh! Sheralton Hotel is at the back of Dang Wangi, which by now would probably be too dangerous for the three aunties to wobbled their way back. Hence i offered to walk them while casually warning them to be careful of robberies. The next thing you know, their relieved faces stretch into tense faces with their eye balls almost popping up asking about safety and security and Malaysian police and... "C Lai", they are amazing creations :p
With the limited vocabs i have in Cantonese, which probably does not sound like Cantonese after all, i was surprisingly having a good time talking to them, about families, holidays, food, Sarawak and "KLCC" (i wish i could pronounce that in the Honkie way here :P) Of course they go all the way about their kids and their kids' education and career. And till we had to say goodbye, i wished the road to the hotel was longer. I think they were saying that they were thankful by their murmuring of "hou hou yan a" but i felt great myself to be able to lend a hand to 3 lost Hong Kong Aunties that were so cute and adorable. Hopefully they would not have to come across any robberies throughout their stay,
although its probably something you can only find in Malaysia ;)
to my favourite Aunt, Auntie Ching Pui :)
which speaks Cantonese too, but English to me la
The colors of Autumn in Melbourne
i drew this on the cup i gave you :)
color. beautiful. nature
Great Ocean Road
17th April
one of the great day trips along the longest scenic coastal drive.
The Great Ocean Road was constructed to provide work for the soldiers that came back from World War I. It is a 243km stretch road along the south-eastern coast of Victoria.
It would cost quite a bit if i were to travel the seaside roads through tourist packages, but thankfully my nice warm uncle and aunt packed us up in a cruise van and drove us all the way.
And because of the trip, i got to cover the towns and suburbs with their funky names like Geelong and Warnnabool :)
*birds*
*young girl*
Thats a Proton!
As normal as seeing a monkey along the outskirt roads, Koalas are seen lazing on trees munching their snack all day long. The word "koala" is said to mean, "doesn't drink".
:)
*happiness*
The Twelve Apostles
which are a collection of limestones stacks which are constantly under erosion due to the weather and the waves.
There is only 9 stacks out there but due to tourist purposes, it was called the Twelve Apostles
The titanic size of the rocks back against the breathe taking view of the sky and the enduring waves makes my imagination run wild for a moment, thinking that maybe it was God's display of artwork, which makes it even more artistic knowing that these artworks presented in the eyes of the viewers are by itself undergoing changes. And in a few more million years to come, it will have a aesthetically different appearance.
Wonderful :)
