ACCA Student Conference 2008 at...

Port Dickson~
this post is dedicated to my loving dad who finally decides to quit smoking :)

Its not exactly a holiday get-away but with all that has been said and done and seen and felt, its pretty much like it.
To clear my doubts on studying accounting(or switching :), i signed up for the ACCA student conference trip directly after being told. Mostly because they're going to the beach XD
Is accounting really a boring job?

Saturday. 12th July 2008. Breezy.
Gather at school. Everyone look high and energetic.

We're going to PD with TAR's own bus, which judging by the interior and exterior, looks nothing less than other fast-lane bus. It plays Hits.fm too XD

The lil girl which is 18 but looks a decade younger XD My assistant class rep.

We paid RM100 for two days one night and i was half expecting a low budget motel. But hey, acca is sponsoring and TAR does know how to keep their image.
2hours journey brought us to Port Dickson finally. The outcome of my hypothesis, this->

CASA RACHADO

woa?

The last visit to port dickson was months ago. And i didn't see anything like what i was seeing. Is this a lesson on networking? ;D

To cut things short, here's pretty much everything.

The People

Jack the comic charater. Very hilarious person XD

Coursemates, Devi, She ann, Ya tou and Korean Boy. Jk

Games/ Team-Building?

The ACCA guy, Mr. Ang Wen How who is not an ACCA himself. Hmm, but no one can deny he's charisma. All compliments to you Mr. Ang. He's 28. haha

Now this is what i call building a team, literally XD

O-O

The Food

The whole two days meal were under buffet basis. And that can really make me a happy boy :P

Second Day

After settling in breakfast, the programme on the schedule was-Jungle Trekking

For the first half an hour i was wondering did anyone mistype "beah trekking" with "jungle trekking"

The beach

Still the beach...

Footprints :)"Oi.. bila nak sampai jungle ni???"

Shuttle speed 1/1600 ; Aperture 8.0 ; ISO 200 XD

Aaaaaarrtttiiisssticcc. Say yes!

Joan, my camera's model for the day :P

Finally,

The Jungle

Macro shoot. i say nice nice la!

Blur picture, but i like it :D

"wa, hutan"
"we've never seen so much grass before! they're so tall!!"

JK :D
Do you see a footprint? the local people says its Hang Tuah's footprint. I'm not sure bout that but if its true, he must have feet the size of Yao Ming.

The climax of the journey, the mountain top where there's a light house. And the place is call Caso Rachado if not mistaken. the view really was mind popping. Reminds me of Westlife's music video XD

A history lesson. This place is the location where Melaka's civilization began. Parameswara was also said to be burried nearby. Portugal and Netherlands invade through this area as well.

Group 18 !
Do you notice something? Its an ACCA student conferene and i haven't mention anything bout it at all. haha.

Here goes, the conference introduce and reintroduce what acca meant. Its here to say that, ACCA isn't a taboo or something so unattainable students should just avoid it if they don't wanna be an accountant. ACCA is a professional body whereby once you obtain the qualification, your pay parachutes with it and so does the employment. There isn't a passing quota and all candidates should do is study and get their marks above 50.

The best thing is, TAR College, of all places (not UM or Sunway or Singapore Uni or anywhere else) is the ONLY institute to provide Internal Assesed Course for ACCA. Meaning to say, you get to skip the professional papers to as much as 9 out of 14 if you're a TAR accounting student. Basically i see no point going to other places for accounting course where you can get cheaper fees, higher status and huge exemptions in a beautiful college like TAR. haha.

Conclusion is, although i'm not really loving the course i'm studying right now, and probably won't be so excited bout it for the next few years as i would for artsy course, i come to a point to tell myself that, the bigger picture lies way above all this small lil tiny problems. Think Bigger, Further. Studying the course itself is just a small part of the whole picture. The best part lies ahead :) All in all, i really believe that God has place me where he wants me to be. Look at the circumstances! really. if it wasn't Him, everything won't be so rewarding, and i won't even understand the conclusion. May all praises be with the Lord :)

Goodnight.
