Rediscovering Camerons Highlands l

I have 3 impressions of Cameron Highlands:

one was from childhood when all i can remember was through photos of British cottage with happy faces, of western living and butter with toast for breakfast. The second impression came when i went up again with mum renting a small kancil. The first impression was banish as i was surprised that, actually there are run-down parts of Cameron, not as perfect as i thought. It wasn't really enjoyable after all being up there since there's really nothing much to do beside sipping tea which smells good but taste dull.

Now there came the third impression, which equally made the second vanish. This time around, it was a school trip, photography society trip in fact just that there were only one-car of people. The 4 of us went as strangers for the love of vacation and photography :)

Amazingly, i enjoyed every minute of it. I don't know what exactly made me re-appreciate the misty cold weather that covers the town like a soft silk blanket; or the small towns that felt so deserted yet occupied and equiped with everything a town needs; or the sceneries, that mind blows you sometimes that you need to take a deep breathe to digest such existence in Malaysia
.

The SK Convent. A school located above a small hill at Tanah Rata. Didn't took pictures of it because it was very misty when i past it. But how cool is it to be able to study in this architectured building! It looks like Hogwards, or in reality sense, the school in Twilight XD

see!!!

In fact Cameron Highlands really felt like what i presume to be, Forks (from Twilight) A small town with a handful of population, rain!, mysterious mist, more rain, antique high school, restaurants, trucks, vampires.. ahaha XD

"to all twilight fans, go to cameron if you crave for the feeling of your favourite characters'' XD

Truly, from this trip, i knew how little my knowledge was in photography. Which is a good thing, cause there's so much ahead to learn! And everytime i learn something new, even if its so detail, my lips widen a few centimetres :)

Nicholas, or Tan Ming Hui, has been the best photographer i've met. Not exactly from the point of skills, but the generocity and willingness to teach everything he had in his field. Really, would anyone be so skilled and yet so self-less to let go of every technique and knowledge he has to rookies like us. Thanks man, you're really the man!

Since we were driving, we could head to wherever we wanted whenever we wanted. We went to the BOH Tea Garden late evening to avoid the swarming tourists.

The desertness from human population with the enchanting mountains adds everything together to make up that eery yet refreshing ambience. I swear the view was really amazing!

yep, just 4....so who's holding the camera????

tripod laaa XD

It was getting closer to dusk, and the mist was getting thicker and thicker. But the shooting continues! XD

See how heavy it was, pitch white. Is that even correct? haha

And in my mind, i kept thinking of how similar my surrounding was to Twilight XD

a Cullen?? Young Cullen :D

Are they that cold? or scared of Vampires?

Anyway it was real cold, and i was surprised that people can actually hire taxis to go up mountains from the nearby towns == Well, there's KFC and Starbucks on Cameron so i've gotta get used to surprises.

More photos to be uploaded, critics needed thank you :)

Hi THere,

Finally manage to find your blog....HAHA, i did not realise you have updated them endlessly ^^

overall, i love reading them, nice photos, well defined and artistic words used on the Rediscovering Cameron Highland Trip. i see your trying to make them like a TV host show of Cameron Highlands. =D

I am honoured to have taught you what i know, and thanks for those kinds words that you have written in your first blog on "Rediscovering Cameron Highlands" about me ^^ overall, i'm also quite a new guy in photography, so i hope what i've taught can help you and your photography society friends as well.

i recommend that you post up this blog to the photography society as well[the Cameron highlands blog post] ,mainly on the members of photography society, it may attract them as well to learn more in photography as well as having another outing or trip.

I'm sure you have your new DSLR by now ^^ Well, hope to hear more from you soon .

Cheers!
